Biography

Caitlin Yatsuhashi (Norfolk, Massachusetts), received her classical training from Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She graduated Walnut Hill in 2017 and went on to further her education in the Ailey/Fordham BFA program where she graduated in 2021. Her Ailey performance credits include works by Alvin Ailey, Manuel Vignoulle, William Isaac, Jessica Castro, Anna Sokolow, and Lauren Lovette. 

Caitlin has had the pleasure of performing in The Macy's Day Parade as well as making on screen appearances in The Dinner Party  directed by Red is Dancing and NYC Media's new video series A Day's Work. She also attended intensives at: Festival Ballet Providence, Charlotte Ballet, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet X, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

Caitlin began her career as a company dancer for New Dances 2022  (Julie Nakagawa, Melissa Thodos). She went on to perform under Project Bound Dance (Emily Loar, Ashley Deran) in Harvest  Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival and Live at Navy Pier. She was a professional hire for Ruth Page Civic Ballet's production of The Nutcracker (Ruth Page) for two consecutive years and additionally was involved in Candlelight Concerts: The Ballet Series  (Noelle Kayser) where she acted as dance captain and dancer. Most notably, Caitlin performed in the world premiere of Never Enough, and the revival of As One (Randy Duncan) in Dance For Life at the Auditorium Theatre.

Caitlin is a current company dancer for Moonwater Dance Project (Mackenzie King). She has performed works by Ching Ching Wong, Noelle Kayser, Jessica Miller Tomlinson, and Katey Carey. She was featured in the Chicago Reader for her work with Moonwater Dance Project. Caitlin is also a main ensemble member for Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre  (Wilfredo Rivera). She has had the pleasure of performing work by Shannon Alvis, Monique Haley, Noelle Kayser, Christin Nenice, Wilfredo Rivera and Michelle Manzanales both in the Chicagoland area and on tour.

In addition to performing, Caitlin values the art of teaching. She completed a two year pedagogy course studying the ABT curriculum while at Walnut Hill. She has worked as a substitute teacher's assistant in Alvin Ailey's Junior Division and currently teaches at Synergy Dance (Bloomingdale, Il). Caitlin has a passion for movement analysis and is a Certified Pilates Instructor at Equinox, and Ab and Flow Pilates
